"Start 2025 Right: Expert Health Tips"

How can we make 2025 a healthy new year? Health experts offer advice

You probably already know the basics for a healthy new year: getting enough sleep, exercising regularly, eating a balanced diet, and controlling stress. But there's more to happiness than that. Even these basics can be hard to execute consistently. So, as we start the new year, we've rounded up some of the most practical and not-always-obvious advice from UCLA health experts for a healthy 2025.

Timeless health tips

"Most of how people could stay sound in 2025 isn't precisely not equivalent to how they could stay strong in 2024: work out, don't smoke, drink  in moderation, stay active, if at all, and stimulate your mind. Be civil in all your interactions and strive to be optimistic every day. You may not find anything that makes you happy, but you may find something meaningful that can help others and yourself. "

Energy Check-in

. "Genuinely examine your inside energy, particularly like your telephone battery.. How charged are you? Are you starting your day at 100%? What drains you and what energizes you? Focus on the habits that energize you and minimize the ones that drain you. By focusing on how to regulate your energy, you can make better decisions about how to spend your day. Take breaks and slow down. Life often feels loud and fast. Turn down the volume and speed.

Plant-Based Diet

"Eat as healthy, plant-based  as possible. The more  plant-based and whole foods you eat, the more likely you are  to be healthy because of the  fiber content, antioxidants, and anti-inflammatory components and compounds in your food, the  lower your calorie intake, and the greater your satiety.

Holistic Health

"All things considered, prosperity is about the body, mind, and soul., eating entire food varieties and integrate some actual work consistently is ideal. It's also about giving yourself permission to eat foods that bring you pleasure, in moderation. For the mind, it's about increasing awareness of helpful and unhelpful thoughts, accessing social support, and giving your mind a break by disconnecting from social media and consciously focusing on your interactions in the present moment. Mind and heart are about finding and connecting with people, activities, hobbies and interests that nourish the soul - things that can create connection and generate meaning. It could be  time with loved ones, connecting through music, literature and art, prayer, meditation, connecting with spirituality or community-based activities. ”

Stress management

"To live well in 2025, individuals should focus in on managing strain through care practices, quality rest serious solid areas for and affiliations. Doing so can significantly improve mental health and resilience.” Of course, this is in addition to  a healthy diet and regular exercise. When it comes to sports and athletics, focus on injury prevention, combine training with cross-training and support your body with proper nutrition and hydration. ”

Conscious stillness

“Take time to rest. This means switching off from time to time and just being, instead of doing something all the time. Practice gratitude. Even a moment of remembering what you are grateful for can transform your day from one of anger and overwhelm to one of peace and gratitude. And enjoy the good moments. There are plenty of other moments throughout the day that bring joy and enjoyment besides gratitude. Don't skip  them. Genuinely partake in this insight, regardless of whether just for a couple of moments.  We want to expand our satisfaction assets.  . When you feel stressed, remember this: STOP: Stop. Take a breath or two. Notice how you feel inside. Be a little more aware, calm and move forward. ”

Move and connect

“Why wait until 2025? Put down your iPad, get up and move. Whatever you did yesterday, if it was one block, go two blocks today, four blocks tomorrow. If it was one mile, go two miles today, three miles tomorrow, and so on. Humans are good at  endurance training - it's hardwired into our DNA - stay true to your genes and keep moving. Don't put anything with sugar in your food this year. Your body is wired to love sugar, so forget about it. If you add sweeteners to your coffee,  try to use only half the amount and eliminate it completely within two weeks. With that in mind, avoid foods that you can't grow or hunt.  The more handled food sources you eat, the more terrible off your body will be. Handled food sources frequently contain sugar, fat and salt to upgrade the taste, however the unnatural blend of fat and sugar screws with your cerebrum science. Make a goal. Find something critical to you beyond work. Volunteer, get familiar with another dialect, get out the news and virtual entertainment channels, get an instrument and figure out how to play it.

Relax with Reflexology

"Get a foot massage.. This is something basic that anybody can do.  . It's very low cost, low investment and high return. Our feet take a lot of wear and tear every day, yet most of us don't take care of them. There is a lot of knowledge about reflexology, but it's actually pressure points, and stimulating many of these pressure points when you massage your feet. All you have to do is take a simple golf ball or roller and  roll both your feet over it. It's very relaxing, especially when combined with closing your eyes and breathing deeply. I usually advise my patients to massage their feet daily, and the best time to do this is at night before going to bed."
